SEVEN-FIGURE SETTLEMENT REACHED IN WRONGFUL DEATH LAWSUIT FOR THE FAMILY

A WARNER ROBBINS MAN KILLED IN TRUCKING ACCIDENT

A Warner Robins veteran was driving his car on a main road in Macon, Georgia.  At that same time a, tractor-trailer was exciting a private drive-way and pulled into his path causing a fatal collision.  The Warner Robins man died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Our investigation showed that the Warner Robins man had no means of avoiding the impact with tractor-trailer.  The defendant trucking company denied liability for the accident. The trucking company defended the case by alleging that the Warner Robins man was speeding, made no attempt to brake, and that he should have been able to avoid the accident.

Forrest B. Johnson and Renee Y. Little countered that the accident was caused by the reckless conduct of the truck driver who failed to operate his vehicle in a safe manner, failed to yield to oncoming traffic, and failed to maintain a proper lookout.   They also demonstrated that the trucking company failed to properly equip its trailer with required reflective tape.    After more than a year of grueling litigation, our attorneys were able to reach a confidential seven-figure settlement on behalf of the victim’s family.
